Biography

Kay works from a lovely workroom/studio in one of the renovated barns attached to her farmhouse cottage, where the isolation and tranquility of the setting give her the inner space to create her works.

Born in Hull, Kay went to Coventry College of Education after leaving school and there specialised in teaching textiles. Returning to Hull to begin her teaching career she later moved to Scarborough with her husband and continued teaching. Following retirement from 20 years of teaching textiles and art, and latterly running her own publishing company, Kay is now able to spend time on her own artworks.

Works are created using various materials including textiles, acrylic and mixed media. Her inspiration is taken from the stunning environment of North Yorkshire and the Wolds, which Kay knows well, and where she has lived for over 30 years.
